Dear Residency Candidate,

It is with great pride that I welcome you to explore our Internal Medicine Residency Program.

At Long Island Community Hospital, we are committed to providing our patients with the safest and highest quality care possible.

We are excited about our recent affiliation with NYU Langone Health, one of the country’s premier academic medical centers. NYU Langone Health has a long history of providing high-quality care to its patients, and we look forward to working with them closely as we continue to serve our community and its needs.

In order to fulfill that mission, our Internal Medicine Residency program focuses on training physicians that will provide evidence-based, high quality care to our community. During your residency training, you will collaborate with our performance improvement department and learn how to identify critical interventions that will protect our patients from harm and reduce the incidence of errors in our system. You will also work as part of a multidisciplinary team that will collectively provide and improve care to our community.

As an institution, we are committed to ensuring that graduate medical education is a priority for our healthcare system and for our community. We want to assure that our patients receive the best care possible, and we believe that educating the next generation of physicians in the latest developments in medical practice is essential to that mission. Hence, we have devoted significant resources to assure that our residents will have strong faculty mentors, a breadth of clinical experiences, and the support required to advance their academic and scholarly interests.

Thank you for visiting our website. We look forward to having you train with us and bringing your experiences and unique perspectives into our health system.

Sincerely,

Ravi Gupta, MD, FACP
